Top-rated independent heating and cooling across South Florida

Ductless Mini-Split Repair

We repair ductless mini-split systems for homeowners across Florida, from an indoor head that blows warm air to an outdoor condenser that hums and quits. Most calls start the same way: one room stopped cooling while the rest of the house is fine, or the wall unit is dripping water onto the floor, or a blinking light on the head has replaced the temperature display. Before you call, check the remote batteries and the breaker. If those look right, get in touch and we will schedule a visit.

What a ductless mini-split repair involves

We start at the indoor head, because that is where most symptoms show up. We pull the front cover, read any error code the board is flashing, and check the blower wheel and coil for the dust and salt film that builds up in coastal air. Then we move outside to the condenser and the line set. A mini-split is a sealed system with electronics at both ends, so we confirm the two halves are communicating before we chase anything else. You get a plain description of what failed.

What we check on the call

Airflow first: filters in the head, blower wheel condition, and whether the coil is iced. Drainage next, since a mini-split relies on gravity through a small condensate line, and one sag or one clog puts water on your wall. We test the communication wiring between head and condenser, inspect the outdoor fan motor and contactor, and look hard at the line set flare connections where refrigerant leaks tend to start. Corrosion on the outdoor cabinet tells us a lot about how the system has been living.

How we decide repair is the right call

We weigh the failed part against the age and condition of the rest of the system. A bad capacitor, a clogged drain, a dirty blower wheel or a failed indoor control board are straightforward repairs on a unit with years left. A compressor failure on an older head, or a line set leaking at multiple points on a heavily corroded system, is a different conversation. We tell you which one you are looking at, what we would do in your place, and let you decide.

Ductless Mini-Split Repair — quick answers

Why is only one of my mini-split heads not cooling?

Multi-zone systems run several heads off one condenser, so a single dead zone usually points to that head's control board, its blower motor, or the branch valve feeding it. The other zones working is a useful clue for us.

Water is dripping from the indoor unit. Is that a repair?

Usually yes. The condensate drain runs by gravity through a small line, and dust, algae or a sagging section will back it up. We clear the line and check the head is still pitched correctly.

What does the blinking light on my mini-split mean?

It is an error code, and the pattern is specific to the manufacturer. Count the blinks and tell us when you call. That code narrows the fault to sensor, communication, or refrigerant before we arrive.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
  • Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
  • Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
  • Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.
  • All major brands, gas & electricEvery major HVAC brand, gas and electric, handled by an independent crew.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
