What the job involves
A capacitor stores the jolt of electricity a motor needs to start and keep turning. When it weakens, the fan stalls, the compressor overheats, and the system trips out. Replacement means shutting off power at the disconnect, safely discharging the old capacitor, and fitting one matched to the motor's ratings. Fan motor work goes further: pulling the top grille, removing the blade, and mounting the new motor with correct rotation and blade height. This is high-voltage work, so leave the panel closed and let us handle it.
What we check and install
We measure capacitance against the rating stamped on the can, check amp draw on the motor, and test the contactor and wiring that feed both. A swollen or leaking capacitor is obvious, but a weak one that still looks fine only shows up under test. On motors we check bearings, shaft play, and the run capacitor that pairs with it. We install parts matched to your system's voltage, horsepower and rotation, and we replace the capacitor whenever the motor is replaced.
How we decide it is the right call
A capacitor is cheap to test and quick to change, so we rule it in or out first. If the new capacitor holds and the motor runs at correct amperage, the repair is done. If the motor draws high, runs hot, or the bearings are dry and noisy, the capacitor will fail again in months and the motor needs replacing. On older systems with salt-eaten housings and a failing compressor, we tell you plainly that replacement dollars are better spent elsewhere.

Why did my capacitor fail so soon after the last one?
Usually because something else is stressing it. Heat, a failing motor pulling high amps, or a weak contactor will kill a new capacitor fast. We test the motor's draw before calling the job finished.
Can I run the AC with the outdoor fan not spinning?
No. Without airflow across the coil, the compressor overheats and can be permanently damaged. Switch the thermostat off and leave it off until we have looked at the unit.
Does coastal air shorten fan motor life?
Salt air corrodes motor housings, shafts and wiring terminals, and afternoon storms add moisture. Motors near the water often show bearing noise earlier, which is why we check shaft play at every visit.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping, water stains on the ceiling. That detail helps us bring the right parts.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, refrigerant performance, airflow and the condensate line. We find the actual cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem stays away.
- Step 3
You approve the repair
We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the part is likely to last. Nothing gets replaced until you say go, and we test the system before leaving.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for the salt airCoastal Florida is hard on outdoor equipment. Coils corrode, contactors pit, fan motors seize early. We look for that damage during every air conditioning repair so a small failure does not take the whole system down.
- Condensate lines we actually clearBy late summer, drain lines clog with algae and shut systems off on the float switch. We clear the line, check the pan and the safety switch, and show you what caused the backup.
- Heating tooCold snaps still arrive. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnace repair where homes have one, so the system works in January as well as August.
- Plain talk about older systemsIf a repair makes sense, we repair it. If a unit is failing in ways that will keep costing you, we say that too and lay out the options. You decide, not us.

- Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
